The John Cardinal O’Connor School is a Catholic school for children who learn differently. We provide an affordable, language-based academic curriculum for children in grades 2-8 with learning disabilities, speech or language impairments or other health impairments. Our multisensory teaching techniques are used throughout the day to keep our students interested and engaged in the learning process. We specialize in the use of PAF, an Orton-Gillingham based reading program, as well as Judith Hochman’s Basic Writing Skills. Our Students are exposed to a full academic curriculum modified to the goals and objectives of their IESP. We teach strong moral character and compassion for others using our Catholic faith as our guide. Through a small student to teacher ratio with special education teachers, and additional academic guidance and instruction, students are enabled to achieve their academic potential. Come visit our JCOS family and experience the warmth and acceptance that our students share in each and every day.
